The Value of Working outdoors

last weekend I worked outside mowing this guys acre lawn using only a gas powered push mower. Not only did I have tread through tall itchy grass and dodge benevolent ant piles, but I also had to clean up his entire yard before proceeding with the mowing. By the end of the day, I only got 30 dollars. That means I basically worked 5 dollars and hour. What has this world come to? What happened to the days when if you just had the willingness to work, you got a job? I think this is complete BS, kids now a days only get jobs because their parents know people in the business. While people are working for 8 to 9 dollars an hour getting paychecks that soar into the hundred dollar range each day, I'm stuck doing stereotypical minority work. None the less, I'm learning how to be man. I'm not complaining at all, just making observations. I'm makin my own money and it feels great to be independent. Soon I hope that this expirence will get me into a better job than most people. In the summertime, or even before, I will get a job working at a carwash and working for decent tips.
What I learned sweating all my moisture outside is that one needs to work hard to get paid. Either you work hard at first in school to have an easy life getting payed big bucks, or work everyday just getting enough to get by everyday. Before, I didn't realize the value of education before I was worked to the bone in steaming humid weather. Now I'm a scholar who actuatly cares about school.
